The practical routes
The quickest way is a light aircraft transfer to the Saadani airstrip. The alternative is to return to Dar es Salaam and continue by road or air from there — see that page.
Combining the two
Many guests do both: a few nights here for the bush and the empty beach, a few nights in Stone Town for the streets and the food. They complement each other rather than repeat each other, which is not true of most island pairings.
