From Dar es Salaam

One hundred kilometres north, on the coast inside Saadani National Park. Two sensible ways to do it.

By road

Allow most of a morning. The route runs north along the coast and then turns inland before re-joining the sea at the park. The final stretch inside the park is unsurfaced.

A four-wheel drive is strongly recommended, and during the long rains (roughly March to May) it is not optional. If you would rather not drive it yourself, we arrange transfers with drivers who know the road.

By air

Light aircraft serve the Saadani airstrip. It turns half a day into well under an hour and the approach over the coast is worth the fare on its own. We meet you at the strip.

Arranging it

Tell us how you plan to arrive when you book and we will confirm options, timings and cost. Transfers are not included in room rates.

The park conservation fee is collected at the gate on the way in. See what it costs.
