Saadani in a day, from Zanzibar. The boat leaves at six in the morning and has you back by five, and in between there is a game drive in the only national park in East Africa where the bush meets the Indian Ocean.
It is a private charter for up to four people, which is what makes it work: no fixed departure to fill, no other party to wait for, and the day is yours. Lunch and evening tea are part of it.

- It runs on Wednesdays and Sundays only.
- Departure is at 6am and you are back at 5pm.
- The price is per boat, up to four people — not per person.
- The park entry fee is separate and is paid to Tanzania National Parks. Cterra confirms the amount for your party before you pay anything.
- The sea decides. If conditions are poor on the day, Cterra will say so rather than cross badly.
- Some of the photographs on this page show the boat dressed for a private celebration — flowers, a laid table. That is arranged separately and is not part of the day trip. Ask Cterra if you would like it.
