Are park fees included in the rate?

No, and this is the question we most want you to see before you book. Tanzania National Parks charges a conservation fee per person for every 24 hours you are inside Saadani. It is paid at the park gate on arrival and we do not collect it. You will see the estimated amount for your party at the first step of the booking. Full detail here.

How do I get there?

One hundred kilometres north of Dar es Salaam, by road or by light aircraft to the Saadani airstrip. From Zanzibar, a light aircraft transfer is the practical route. Routes and journey times.

When is the best time to visit?

June to October is dry, cool and best for game viewing. December to February is hot and clear and best for the ocean. The long rains fall roughly March to May.

What should I pack?

Neutral colours for game drives, a warm layer for early mornings on the river, reef shoes for the sandbank, sun protection and insect repellent. Laundry is available, so pack less than you think.

Is malaria a risk?

Coastal Tanzania is a malaria area. Speak to a travel clinic before you come. Tents have screens and nets.

Are meals included?

Yes, every rate is full board. Tell us about dietary requirements when you book.

Is there WiFi?

Yes, in the main areas, and it is slow. The camp runs on solar power around the clock.

How do I pay, and is it secure?

Online by card through Pesapal, a licensed payment provider. Card details are entered on Pesapal's own secure form and are never stored by this website.

Can you host a wedding or a private group?
